Anyway, like I was sayin’, shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. There’s shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There’s pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That, that’s about it. – Bubba
That is just one of the classic quotes from the Tom Hank’s movie Forrest Gump . We love the movie. Don’t we all? So I was delighted when I saw Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. when we visited Gatlinburg, Tennessee on my birthday because we not only love the movie, we love seafood too!
I loved everything about Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., from the ambiance and food to the playful décor and service. It’s the perfect place for Forrest Gump fans. The movie was also playing on T.V. so that’s the entertainment that you get while waiting for your food.
Actually, that’s not the only thing that kept us from being bored while waiting. Look below.
Those were some famous lines of Forrest in the movie and they were written on the table. Aren’t they cute?!
Not only that, one of the waitresses also had a question and answer game for everyone and, of course, it was all about the movie. I can’t remember how many times we answered, but we did know some of them. Yeah, only some even though we’ve seen the movie many times. 😉
She was entertaining us with the game while we were eating our delicious meals.
Here’s the hubby’s Texas Cajun Chicken Sandwich. Look at that avocado on top. Yum! I love how they served it on that pretty newspaper-looking napkin. Or was it a napkin or was it actually a paper? LOL.
The little one’s kiddie meal, the Hubba Bubba Popcorn Shrimp with French Fries served on a paper boat. How cute is that boat? It surely made him delighted!
I had one of Bubba’s Shrimp Specials which is the I’m Stuffed! Shrimp. It had rice which made me love it more!
Here’s the thing, you put up that sign “Run, Forrest, Run” if you are ready to order. And…
You put this sign once you’re done and ready to pay. So cool, isn’t it? They had ping pong paddles too as décor. Forrest loved playing ping pong.
How I wish we had a Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. here in the city. I definitely would want to have some of Bubba’s shrimps again! 🙂

I was at the one in Times Square last fall, but we only went in for drinks because the wait for a table was so long. Next time we’ll eat.

Bubba Gump is a popular tourist destination at Navy Pier in Chicago. I have been a few times, and must admit that I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere–different from our usual choice but fun at the same time.
