Happy Friday!
If you happen to have stumbled on this blog last Friday, September the 4th, then you already know what this post is about. I left you hangin’ there, right? So, here’s the continuation of my birthday celebration.
If you remember, I took you with me when we ‘Traveled “Nine Mile” to the Caribbean‘ and today, I’m going to take you with me to France. Umm, dream on, right? Well, not literally, but kinda sorta since the name of the establishment has the word French in it. Does that even make sense? 😉 Actually, a river that runs through our area is called the French Broad. I don’t know the origin of that name; I’ll have to ask my hubby.
Well, we went to French Broad Chocolate Lounge to have our desserts that night. Being the sweet tooth that I am, I’ve been wanting to visit this place since the time I’ve learned about it. But what better time to go there than on my birthday. That’s just made the first time extra-special.
Lo’ and behold! These were the things that welcomed me as soon as we I entered the door. My eyes were on a feast. There was so much for my eyes to feast on that it took me awhile to decide what to get. And these were not all. There were more that I wasn’t able to take a photo of.
So, I thought and thought and thought… and then I realized, I had to hurry because there was already a bunch of people behind us waiting in line. If you only knew how hard it was for me. Like…can you give me one more hour to decide, please? It was really hard! Really!
So what did I get?
Coconut macaroons!!! Super delicious coconut macaroons, if I may add.
I’ve always loved coconut macaroons, and their coconut macaroons were definitely the biggest that I’ve seen. Can you tell how big that is? It was so big that I didn’t finish one that night. Imagine that! Can you blame me? That dinner from the Caribbean restaurant filled me up.
My husband and my son got some desserts too, but I was so engrossed with my macaroon that I didn’t realize to take photos of their desserts until they were gone.
I’ll definitely go back and try those desserts one by one. 🙂
If you happen to visit Asheville and you have a sweet tooth like me, then make sure that French Broad Chocolate Lounge is included on your itinerary. I’ve actually included it on my Five Things to Do in Downtown Asheville post and now it’s off on my to-do list. 🙂
