It was the 4th of July weekend when the husband and my son went to the woods up on our backyard to look for berries. I was just looking at them from the back deck. They didn’t spend much time in there and headed back to the house in a few minutes.
My son was only a few feet towards the house when saw this black snake lying near our oil tank. He was like a foot away from the snake when he saw it. Gladly, he didn’t step on it. I thought it was a big earthworm from afar. Yikes!
It looks scary, isn’t it? I took this photo from the back deck. I think the snake is about four feet long.
The husband took this photo before he removed the snake using a stick and put it back to the woods.
