Hello November!
Is it just me or anybody else feels like this year has flown by so fast? I was just talking to the hubs yesterday about the fact that it’s already November. But I’m not complaining at all because although fall is my favorite season, Christmas is my favorite time of the year. For me, they’re two different things. I love fall as the “season” because of the not so cold temps, the beautiful foliage and the many fun things you can do. But Christmastime is like the most joyful “time” for me. The spirit of Christmas just gives me that feeling of warmth that no other season has. You know what I mean? And, not to mention, I can’t wait to decorate. I just love decorating for Christmas.
And here I am again, getting carried away about November and December when in fact, my post is about October. 🙂 So, let’s head on to the October recap.
FAMILY
Although there are already a lot of leaves that have fallen on the ground and I’m seeing a lot of raking on the horizon, the city reached its peak color this week so we are now enjoying beautiful foliage everywhere. Fall is not something that we experience in the Philippines so I’ve really fell in love with it. The husband actually talked about how I fell in love with fall in one of his blog posts.
As family, we love to watch movies and television shows and we’ve been enjoying Netflix for a month now. There are a lot of great shows on Netflix and the first series that we enjoyed was Daredevil. Hubby’s also enjoying a lot of movies including western movies that he’s loved to watch since he was a little boy. Once Upon a Time in the West is just one of them.
But it’s not only watching movies or TV shows that the three of us love to do together, we also love to do other fun stuff and good stuff as much as we can. We gave a bit of our time to help our local food bank before. It’s always good to give back.
Our son may be not be too little anymore for the free kid’s app, but I was more than happy to share that app. It is really a great app for kids. Also, I am so looking forward to watching the Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker come December. I know my boys are not into anything ballet, but I think they will enjoy it. 🙂
It’s been raining since yesterday and I can’t help but be reminded about the 10 things to do when it’s raining. Well, I’ve been “online window shopping” actually. Now that the holidays are just around the corner, I think it’s just fine to look around the world wide web for gift ideas, right? It has been raining, but at least it’s not snowing. We had a snow in autumn last year and it fell on October 31. Still thankful it wasn’t like the Great Blizzard which the hubs experienced in 1993. I do wonder now what our winter will bring?
FOOD
We were able to celebrate the National Pancake Day. Yay! I just love pancakes. Yum! I love the Filipino Rice Cakes too or what is known as Bibingka in my home country. It may not be the one that’s traditionally cooked, but it was still good.
I gave my boys a treat at Panera Bread and we all enjoyed what we had. Now I’m thinking of the soup more so since it’s raining.
How was your Halloween? We had fun! I also enjoyed creating those cute mini donut spiders. And I was right, my son and husband were delighted to see them. Who wouldn’t be delighted with those cuties?
TRAVEL
We went somewhere to have some fall fun in mid-October, but I wasn’t able to blog about it because of my schedule so that will come this month.
Fall soccer has been keeping us busy too and we travel to different nearby towns for their games so it also felt like we’ve been away too many times.
And I’m going to end this post with this quote:
“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” ― L.M. Montgomery
How was your October? I hope it was great!

It was great although a little busy, Robin. That little fall fun we had will be on the blog this month. 🙂
We love exploring when we can. We did go to California this month and it has been a while since we have been there. I would love to see other parts and enjoy the fall leaves.
I just watched the first episode of Daredevil to see if I’d like it. I”m pretty sure I’ll be binge watching the entire season this weekend.
I can not believe that October has come and gone and it’s now November! We also watched Daredevil, The 100 and some other shows.
Great post dear! Have a nice day:)

Thank you, Irene. 🙂
Your fall sounds great so far. I need to be doing more fall activities before the snow starts to fall.
Sounds like a fantastic month! I can’t believe how fast this year has flown by!
I can’t believe it either, Lisa. Time surely flies! 🙂
I love fall too!! The colours, the cooler weather and the foods are so amazing!! I also can’t wait fo the Christmas season!! Great recap
Thanks, Jenn. 🙂
You are spot on. It sure does seem like the year just flew by. My hubby always has to remind me about everything we did in the year. If not for that, sometimes I would just feel like the year went by and we got nothing done.
National Pancake day??? How in the world did I miss that? I need to keep up with the special food holidays! lol
I hate to see October go, that month went by so quickly for me. I’m looking forward to November when I get to see my family.
Our October was pretty easy. We visited a Gelato place and a pub restaurant in LA. We also had a pretty fun Halloween.
Good to know that, Nka. 🙂
Every month seems to be going faster than the last this year! It’s absolutely insane! I love to travel too – and I really love that October quote! It’s so very true!
My October was great but I do not look forward to the snow. I think it is beautiful but boy is it dangerous and cold out there!
I look forward to the snow too. We don’t get much snow here in the south though so we’ll see what the winter holds for us. 🙂
Where did you go for travel? Do you plan the places you visit every month? It’s great that you got to spend quality time with your family.
Hi Roch. We went to a nearby town last month. I do plan some of our travels, but sometimes, things just don’t go as planned. But we do make sure to spend quality family time as much as we can. 🙂
I’ve got things to blog about too, but my schedule is just crazy. It’s hard to catch up once you fall behind too.
Time do fly by so fast.. I can’t even believe that it’s the third day of NOvember already. I love summer but I also like Fall.
October was a great month for me too!! I am really looking forward to November and December and getting to see my family more!!
Thank you so much for sharing. My October also seemed to fly by in an instant but I am really looking forward to the family time that the holidays brings!
Sounds like a pretty great start to the fall season. I love the changing (now falling) leaves and the colors they bring – such a fun time as everything races towards the end of the year!
It seems to me that October just flew by. I like to savor the Fall months, but they are going by too fast!
Great recap. Fall is really my least favorite season, but I love the colors. I look forward to seeing if I can get Netflix to work in my husband’s and my new house too. Great tips for movies and series to watch.
I love your recap of the year. I can’t believe it’s already November as well. =(
I always enjoy reading your posts! It sounds like you had a wonderful October. October was a pretty good month. I just can’t believe that it went by so fast, though!
Thanks, HilLesha. 🙂
It sounds like you all had a blast for October. I miss everything this month had to offer because of my mom being in and out of the hospital but she is more important. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
I’m sorry to hear about your mom, Rebecca. Hope she’s doing a lot better now.
I am so surprised how fast October went by. Sounds like you had a great month.
It looks like you had a great October. I remember when fall soccer used to consume our whole season when my daughter was little.
I had a great October as well. I also really enjoy Fall, but also can’t wait for the holidays. I love the holidays! It’s a great time to get together with families.
I totally love Panera bread! Favorite place to eat. Looks like you had a fun October.
Sounds like you had a pretty fun, and delicious October!! There’s something I like out of just about every season of the year, but I do love November and December. The festivities, the food, the fun – I just adore it all. It can be stressful becuase there is a lot going on, but definitely my fave time of year!
