Happy Monday! There’s 4 more days left until Christmas!
I’ve been seeing all these DIY Advent Calendars all over the blogosphere, but I didn’t bother to create one for us because most of what’s in their Advent Calendars are things that I think I wouldn’t be able to do. It gets so busy around here at this time of year and I just thought it would be hard to do it all.
Then, I saw this Advent Calendar at the store filled with milk chocolates. I figured this would be the best one for our little boy because, for one, he is a chocoholic like me. I wondered why I hadn’t seen one like this before? If I had, I would have started this fun tradition years before.
This calendar is pretty cheap and is filled with 24 milk chocolate figures that are really cute.
The delight on my son’s face when he opened the first flap on the first day of December was priceless and he couldn’t wait to open the second one. If he could, he would have opened all the flaps in one day.
Under the flap shows what kind of figure the chocolate is. My son had already gobbled the chocolate train figure by this time. 🙂

But hey, I honestly didn’t realize until my son opened a few of those flaps that we actually had one too when I was a little girl. That’s me right there facing an Advent Calendar. I had to ask my aunt to scan this picture and send it to me. So, having an Advent Calendar is not a new holiday tradition for me, but for my son, it definitely is. This is his first year of having one, and this won’t be the last for sure.
I’m really glad I introduced this new tradition to him. He’s definitely one happy kid with this new holiday tradition.

I love this tradition. I always had those chocolate filled ones when I was a kid and I totally forgot about them. I need to do this with my kids next year.
We’ve never done an advent calendar before. I think it would be fun though. The kids would certainly love getting candy everyday.

The advent calendar is one of my favorite things at Christmas! I love seeing the excitement of my child each day he just open it up see how much closer to Christmas and get a piece of candy.

This is such a fun tradition. The kids would definitely like having a new chocolate waiting for them each day!
What fun. I can’t remember the last time I used an Advent calendar. I remember my grandmother had one that she hand made and then she would make homemade chocolates. Maybe someday I’ll start that tradition.

What a great tradition! My family makes sure we attend the Christmas Eve mass and then gather together and have a sumptuous dinner. I love being with my family. They are my treasure!

I love advent calendars. I think they’re a really wonderful tradition. When I was little we had home made one and each night we got a new Christmas book.
I always love finding an Advent calendar for my son with his favorite character on it. He can now even tell me what the date is before I ask him, getting so big.
We get Advent Calendars from Trader Joes every year! This year we gave chocolate advent calendars and LEGO advent calendars! It’s a great holiday tradition!
I have bought a Advent Calendar every year since my kids were little. They always loved opening the door for each day.
Those calendars are so much fun. I use to have them when I was a kid. I wish I would have remembered about these this year. I would have picked up a couple of them.
I will be honest I never had an advent calendar growing up. Looks cute and festive to countdown for the holiday!

My daughter and I did this last year! It was so much fun, my daughter loved the little treats she got.
These are soo cool. I’m thinking about doing this for our family starting next year too.
We didn’t do one this year. We really should have since they are so cute!
Sadly we did not do it this year, as my son seems not to be interested anymore, but we loved doing it in previous years!
I honestly never used an advent calendar before, but it’s a tradition that my family and I’d love to practice some year. I know that my children would enjoy it. 🙂
