We had some Gambas al Ajillo for dinner last night – one of the easiest and delicious dishes that I love to prepare and the three of us love to eat. Gambas al Ajillo is one of my favorite dishes. I love seafood a lot, so does my husband and son. And when it comes to delicious Gambas al Ajillo here in Asheville, you can never go wrong with the dish from Curate.
Curate is one of the best, if not the best restaurant that offers Spanish cuisine here in Asheville. I came across the restaurant when it was named as one of the Best Tapas Restaurants in the U.S. by Travel + Leisure in 2013. It was that year too that we checked the place out, on Mother’s Day to be exact, and sampled their delicious food. But just a heads up, these photos were taken using my old cellphone and it didn’t do them justice at all.
Their servings are small which is way too perfect for me. I’ve always have a hard time finishing a big serving and always end up asking for a to-go box. I cleaned my plate that night. đ
These are crispy fried potatoes topped with a slightly spicy âbravaâ sauce.
This was our son’s choice and it was gone in a heartbeat.
And there’s my Gambas al Ajillo or sautĂ©ed shrimp and sliced garlic.
My husband’s choice. He loves asparagus!
If you ever get to Asheville, make sure to check this restaurant. I think I am not the only one who highly recommends it. I’m not sure though if they still offer all of these dishes now. I think I will just have to say that it’s for you to find out. đ

Dang, this looks great and pretty authentic! Only thing is, where’s the pan con tomate (tomato bread)? That’s a true Spanish staple :).
