Other than our son’s recent field trip to Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta last week, it was also four years ago today when we visited the National Aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland thus, this post. Today’s post would have been about our son’s recent field trip if he had taken any photos, but he didn’t. His reason…”It’s embarrassing.” I think that is some kind of a “teen thing” because he surely didn’t complain at all nor had he had any second thoughts of taking photos for me when he had their 6th grade field trip to Chattanooga, Tennessee last year. 😉
Anywho, since he didn’t have photos of Georgia Aquarium, let me talk about our trip to the National Aquarium instead. This happened four years ago, but I realized, I haven’t shared about the trip to the aquarium here on the blog yet. Or maybe I did, but I only talked about the adorable dolphins. Let me share some more of what we saw and enjoyed at one of the United States top five aquariums.
That’s my son’s silhouette right there. He totally enjoyed watching the dolphins showing off their antics. It was never in our plan to visit the aquarium. Our main reason of going to Baltimore was to attend the christening of my friend’s youngest son. The following day, she showed us the city and took us to the aquarium after giving us a hearty treat at a seafood restaurant right next door to it.
There was a jellyfish section and it was not only pretty, it was really fascinating to look at. Had to take a photo of this jellyfish decor because they were as pretty as the live ones.
The aquarium doesn’t only boast of different varieties of marine life like what can be seen in the river forest, coral reef, shark alley, etc., they also have a tropical rain forest with fascinating different kinds of birds.
Our son was mesmerized with the sting rays. There were a bunch of them in different sizes.
Like me, the hubs was wide-eyed like a child as well of the many things that we saw. He couldn’t get his eyes off those little fishes in that aquarium.
Looking out at part of Inner Harbor from inside the National Aquarium. In one of the buildings to the right was where we had lunch.
The aquarium is huge and the building you’re seeing is the entire aquarium itself taken from the other side of Inner Harbor. I forgot exactly how long it took us to explore the entire building, but it was pretty ample time. And hey! Say hello to the cutie seagull that posed for me. 🙂
Have you been to the National Aquarium in Baltimore?

We always try to visit any aquariums near where we’re traveling. Last summer, we took a special trip to Florida just to go to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. It was awesome!
