One thing that I love about fall is the many fun activities for the whole family to enjoy minus the scorching heat of the sun. The weather was gorgeous on Sunday – the sun was shining but the air was crisp and cool – so we hit the road and drove to the neighboring town of Hendersonville to visit a pumpkin patch. This was the same pumpkin patch that we visited four years ago, Grandad’s Apples N’ Such.
With its location not too far from where we live, and not too far from the heart of Hendersonville, as its name entails, Grandad’s not only offers apples from its apple orchard, they also have a pumpkin patch, a corn maze, barnyard animals and a country store to buy food to snack on while having fun at the park.
And that’s exactly why I chose to go there again. It’s like a one stop shop for some family fall fun not to mention, admission is free! They’ve also added new things that were not there the first time we went, a giant jumping pillow and a hay stack. My son felt he’s too old for those, so we enjoyed ourselves watching the little kids having a good time.
The apples were all picked, but it was still fun roaming around the orchard and seeing the trees and the apples that have fallen on the ground which looked like potatoes, by the way.
And we were late for the pumpkins too. These were the only pumpkins left. I surely didn’t think they would be gone so soon!
They also have a goat in their barn now. We only saw a llama before. That was the goat up there on that ledge enjoying the food he was being fed.
There was a donkey now too which we found to be so cute!
Love this photo of our little kiddo and he has surely grown taller. He’s five feet now. Don’t be deceived. The part of the ground where he was standing was not level. 🙂
It is always fun to visit a farm at this time of year. Makes me want to have a farm myself.
How about you? Have you done any family fall fun activities lately?

We always hit the same pumpkin farm and get pictures. There’s an apple orchard we try to go to every other year also that has tons of stuff to do.
