Happy 2017!
Hope you welcomed the new year with a bang. Just like last year, we were all able to make it until midnight and watched the ball drop in Times Square on TV with a margarita in hand that the husband made. ‘Twas yummy! Now, let’s look back on how 2016 had been here on the blog.
Opportunity wise, it was a great year and so was the traveling we did.
I took this photo going back home to Asheville from Charlotte, North Carolina, during our recent holiday trip to New York City.
Like I’ve said here many times before, we love to go on road trips and explore new places, big or small and we’ve visited new cities this year which is always fun and exciting. We also have our favorite places to visit over and over again just like Atlanta and we visited the city twice this year. It couldn’t get better than that.
Weekend in Nashville, Tennessee
“Walking the Floor…” of the Ernest Tubb Record Shop
The Original Home of Real Country Music: Ryman Auditorium
Johnny Cash Museum: A Trip to the Past
I am a huge fan of country music even before I came here to the U.S. I think it dates back to when I was in college. CMT was one of my favorite channels to watch on Cable back home then. So visiting Nashville was on my bucket list. Then an opportunity came for us to visit the Music City and we blogged about the things that we enjoyed there many times here on the blog.
We’ve visited Hotlanta twice this year. The first trip was planned and the second one was a surprise trip. Gotta love those surprises. You may check all those stories on the links above.
A Quick Trip to the Town of Forest City
The charm of a small town can’t be beat and the little town of Forest City is full of it. We went there on a mission and we hope to visit the town again this year to complete that mission or missions. 🙂
Christmastime in New York City
I would say the highlight of our travel this year was visiting the Big Apple during the holiday season. But we flew this time and it was a trip of a lifetime. Christmas is my favorite time of the year and as they say, there’s nothing more magical than Christmastime in New York City and they were so right about that. Four days was surely not enough to see all the beauty that New York City has to offer, but we did see all the magic that Christmas brings which was our plan in the first place. That surely won’t be the last time we’re going to visit New York City.
I have wishes that 2017 will be a great traveling year for us too. And hopefully this year, we get to travel not only here in the United States, but also somewhere in Asia! 😉 I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
Do you love to travel too? How was your 2016?

Nashville and Atlanta are my favorite southern cities. I live just outside of Atlanta, and we get to Nashville every chance we get. They’re such vibrant places.
