Life can get so hectic sometimes, but as family, we make sure to spend and enjoy quality time together. We love going on road trips and making memories through travels whether locally or exploring new places, either a big or small city.
We’ve talked about all the family fun memories that we’ve made in 2016 here on the blog. I’m recapping them all for you today just in case you missed them.
The year 2016 was a great year for us. Although the beginning of the year was difficult with hubby’s near-death experience in January, we were able to bounce back immediately and it made for a wonderful year with lots of amazing memories. Sometimes, life can totally throw you a curve ball and if you’re not strong enough to handle it, you’ll strike out. Do remember that God won’t give you problems that you can’t handle. And also remember that there is always a rainbow after the rain. So if you’re going through something right now, remember that that is only temporary and will soon pass.
Another Day in the Life, Thankfully!
Yea, though I walked through the valley of the shadow of death…
Our son loves playing soccer and last year was extra-special for him and for the whole family because he was accepted onto the middle school soccer team. That was really a proud moment for him as well as for us. I am so proud of my only son and I shared all of my sentiments to him in a letter. Read all about our posts about our beloved kiddo who is also an A Honor Roll student and a member of the school concert band.
The husband has always loved playing golf, but it has been years since he played the last time. After his heart attack in January, he realized he needs to have exercise so he thought of playing golf again while walking the course, not riding.

Like I mentioned earlier, we spend family quality time together as much as we can and I couldn’t be more thankful of the time we spent together as family last year. You can check more of our travels in my Best of 2016 travel post.

Lastly, for the first time ever, I created a family Christmas card and I sent it not only to family and friends here in the U.S., but also to my family back home in the Philippines. You can read the post why I only started sending Christmas cards last year and why I chose that photo which was taken in 2010, our first Christmas here in the U.S.

Sounds like you had a well-rounded year – and glad to hear that your husband recovered from his heart attack. Traveling is such a great way to create memories, the kids usually talk about our travel adventures when we think about the most exciting things we have done. I hope you and your family have a wonderful 2017!

These are all awesome family memories for 2016. Kudos to your son for making the middle school soccer team. It really is an awesome thing to see our kids achieve a goal of theirs. Golfing is something I have never did but we do have a mini golf course here in our area and I believe it would be a great family activity to start this year. Thanks for sharing your best family memories of 2016.

I am so glad that things worked out with your husband. I am sure that was super scary to you. Those first few weeks on January were a blur for me. I had back surgery two days before Christmas. I believe that 2016 had its ups and downs. I am praying 2017 will be better.
