After I talked about our holiday trip in Christmastime in New York City and the good eats that we dug ourselves into while we were there (even Hubby shared his version of that holiday trip), I was sure I wasn’t done with telling the story of that trip. LOL. What can I say? That was our first trip to the Big Apple and I was not just amazed, I totally fell in love with its entirety. Now I know why New York City is Hubby’s favorite city in the U.S. I’ve actually been kidding my husband that we should go back during spring break. Now, if only we had a budget for it. LOL.
Anyways, we arrived in the city on a Saturday afternoon. After we checked in at the hotel and got settled in, we went out to go check Times Square and hopefully grab us a dinner at a restaurant there. We stayed at a hotel on 8th Avenue which is located so close to Times Square so we were there at probably the world’s most famous spot right before we know it.
GIGANTIC BILLBOARDS
Those gigantic billboards with all those bright lights amazed me. And the square was packed! Like, really packed! I surely didn’t expect that many people. Like if you would compare it to traffic, it was like bumper to bumper. 🙂 But I have no problems with overcrowded places, but the little one did not like it at all. That was the first time that he had been to a place with such huge amount of a crowd. I think it kind of shocked him a bit.
BRIGHT LIGHTS
See that Christmas Tree on the Toshiba billboard? It was pretty!
It was 37 degrees Celsius that night so it was chilly.
FUN
But see that man in a diaper? I do wonder if he didn’t feel cold at all. I truly admired him for wearing only that on that chilly night. 🙂 Those people in costumes were there the whole time just waiting for people to have a photo taken with them. I would have loved to, but I think it was not for free. Haha.
DINNER
After soaking in all the magnificent bright lights and the huge ads surrounding us, we decided to grab dinner. And guess which one caught the eye of the little one first? Of course, it was McDonald’s! It felt so good after getting inside McDonald’s and feeling the warmth of the indoors. Whew!
We circled Times Square some more after dinner and decided to head back to the hotel and call it a night.
This was taken the following day after we had our breakfast at a diner on Times Square. That was the husband right there taking a photo of the billboard and that was our son beside him. This was the only start of that day where we walked miles and miles to explore the city all decked out for the holidays. You can read more of that story in my post Christmastime in New York City.
