I am a see-it-shoot-it kind of gal. For as long as I have my iPhone with me then you would see me snapping a shot of anything that I fancy. And that covers just about everything that I see, wherever I am at at any given time. But I am not saying that I am good at it. That’s why I read about photography trying to learn tips and tricks on how to take better photos or even how to take them like a pro. Let me share with you some of what I’ve learned about the wonderful world of photography.
First, take photos with lots of natural light. My iPhone only has 5 megapixel but it takes fabulous pics as long as I use it in plenty of natural light. I’ve tried snapping photos at night but it was no good. This tip also applies even to DSLR cameras as far as what I’ve read about people who own one.
Second, don’t use flash – when you already have a lot of natural light around your subject, that is. I have proven and tested this one as well. I have tried taking photos with flash and without flash and the latter looks much sharper and nicer.
Third, the angle. How you take a photo in a certain angle helps determine its quality. I love experimenting on this one. I snap photos from different angles and then choose one that I like best and delete the rest.
Fourth, the power of editing. All the while I thought people who use DSLR’s don’t need photo editing but I was wrong. I am on the verge of learning the ins and outs of photo editing. By using only an iPhone or a point and shoot, the more that my photos need editing. I use iPiccy and PicMonkey. I find them so easy to use not to mention, they are what most bloggers that I came across recommend.
There are more tips out there but I am just going to talk about these few tips for now because for me, these are the basic ones that I need since I am only using an iPhone and a point and shoot. Once I get a DSLR, then there are more that I need to read and learn.
Look at the latest photo below that I took using my iPhone. Thanks to Instagram, I was able to make it more lovelier.
I took this photo, at of all places, the grocery store. These beautiful flowers caught my attention as soon as we walked in the door. Whose attention wouldn’t be caught by such beauty? While the husband was busy grocery shopping, there I was, taking snap shots. Don’t worry, he is totally aware about my obsession, from food photos to our trips and anything around us. I am a certified “Photoholic,” I guess.
I am a certified “Instagrammer” too. I love Instagram! Follow me if we are on the same boat. (“,)
