Our small city of Asheville is becoming an even-more popular destination for tourists now and not only because of its beauty, but also because of the food. For a food lover like me, our city is a heaven. But that’s not only it. Apparently, our city also offers hidden gems. Something that I only learned a few months ago, like this Antique Car Museum that is located in quite a hidden location of Grovewood Village. But if you’ve visited the famous hotel, the Omni Grove Park Inn, then you must have known about this gem already because it is located right next door to it.
Like I said, I’ve only learned about this Antique Car Museum a few months ago while browsing online. They were closed when I stumbled upon them around winter, but I made it my goal to visit the place once they opened in the springtime.
So on Spring Break a couple of weeks ago, I put it on our to-do list. If you happened to have read that post of mine about Ideas for Spring Break Family Fun, visiting this Antique Car Museum was on the list.
Look at all these beauties. They were cars from the 1920’s to the 1950’s, but mostly from the 20,s and 30’s.
With wheels made of wood! Cool!
They also had this old-time vintage fire truck, an original one from the Asheville Fire Department of the 1920’s, on display. And see that dalmatian sitting in front?
And this carriage was also on display.
While I was snapping photos, the hubs was also busy checking every detail of the cars. As you can see, there were no people other than us. A few arrived a few minutes before we left so we had the museum all to ourselves. We were there around midday so I think I should say, that’s the right time to visit if you want to visit when the museum isn’t packed.
With all the trees surrounding this quiet neighborhood, I almost felt like we were in an ancient, secluded land.
Have you been to an Antique Car Museum?
If you plan to visit Asheville, North Carolina in the future, make sure to keep this in your itinerary. Admission is free, but they accept donations.
