After exploring the Biltmore Estate and seeing what we wanted to see, we decided to head on to Antler Hill Village and fill our hungry tummies. We drove about 4 miles to the village from the Biltmore House. Like I mentioned previously, it’s like a little city on its own with restaurants, stores, etc.
Hubby had made a reservation at Village Social. It’s a restaurant and bar located at their newly opened Village Hotel. Our reservation was at 11:30 AM. We got there around noon, but there was hardly any customers (only two tables were occupied when we arrived) so we got a table without any problems. It was on a Tuesday so I think it’s one of the reasons why they weren’t that busy. I liked the decor and ambiance of the restaurant. And the service was excellent. The waitress was so friendly and sweet. I forgot her name, but I’ll always remember her face.
And here’s the food and the drinks in all their glory! 🙂 Nom!
Orange Juice
Beer Battered Brussels Sprouts with Malt Vinaigrette
Seafood Fondue and Toasted Bread
All of these were considered snacks, but they were more than enough to fill my little tummy. I have always loved brussels sprouts and the beer battered brussels sprouts with malt vinaigrette did not disappoint. My mouth’s watering now just thinking about it. The fondue was good too. It was so good and I took the leftovers home.
Grilled Asparagus
Herb Potato Wedges
Grilled Oysters with Tomato Butter and Toasted Cornbread
Hubby ordered the heirloom tomatoes, asparagus, potato wedge and grilled oysters. The oysters were gone in a heartbeat. I had a bite and they were to die for. Seafood lovers we are!
As usual, he got tea and I had orange juice.
It was such a great lunch with the hubs. Thanks for the treat, Hubby!
Happy Food Trip Friday, folks and enjoy your weekend!
