How is it in your part of the Northern Hemisphere? It truly is chilly where I am now. Really. But what can I say. It is officially autumn! Woot!
I so look forward to a lot of things in the fall. Beautiful foliage, Halloween and soccer to name a few. Not to forget, the falling leaves – humongous amount of leaves, and the raking that comes afterwards. (wink) But more often than not, the husband does all the leaf clean up. I have to commend him on that. It’s no easy job, I know. Or is it? He does have a leaf blower so he doesn’t have to rake ’em all up. If only those leaves were dollar bills, we would be millionaires! LOL. #wishfulthinking
I took this photo last week near the lake while we were traveling on our way home. I love this area because of the trees lining the road and it is just gorgeous, most especially when the color reaches its peak. This is my 5th year of experiencing autumn here in the US, but the colorful foliage’s beauty still never ceases to amaze me.
We arrived here in the late part of autumn in 2010 and most of the leaves had already fallen. My first taste of “real” autumn was in 2011. And what made it more special was that we made a trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway and see autumn at its peak in the high mountains, in all its glorious beauty. It was really a beautiful and breathtaking sight. Now I am nostalgic. I will talk about that trip next time. I love reminiscing trips.
Fall soccer has also begun and my son had his first game last Saturday. And what better way to start the season than winning the first game. Totally awesome!
Soon the temps will drop down some more, the air will get crispier and colder and the furnace will start running. And my husband will begin his constant complaining about freezing to death. You would think that after living his entire life experiencing this climate, he wouldn’t say a word. Look at me; a gal from a tropical country where the weather is like constant summer, enjoying every moment of this different kind of weather. It all comes with the beauty that the autumn brings, right? Besides, I can’t wait to start wearing my boots again.
Happy first day of fall, y’all!

I haven’t had the chance to experience autumn yet 🙂 Since my travels have not taken me as far as your part of the world. Hope I get to experience that soon 🙂 Your photos are really pretty. Looking forward to read more about your experiences/travel during autumn.
Thanks, Deli. I love autumn. I hope you get to experience it someday.
