If you have been following me on Instagram and had seen my sneak peeks about Hubby’s birthday dinner, you already have seen this post coming since I mentioned it there. And if you have missed Hubby’s post on Monday, he turned 2,051,222,400 seconds old last week. 🙂 It definitely was a milestone and something to celebrate for because it was a blessing after all. He was blessed to reach that age or better yet, blessed to celebrate another birthday after what happened to him in early 2016.
We headed to this restaurant that we have been wanting to try for a while now, Ambrozia Bar & Bistro. They were closed when we tried to book in the past so that was why it didn’t work out then. This restaurant is located so close to home and has gotten great reviews online. And the birthday boy was the one who chose where to go. It’s his birthday, so I let him chose. But it was my treat. Of course! 😉
There’s the birthday boy’s throne. The decor is kind of rustic, but I really like it. And there were paintings displayed on the wall that were actually for sale. Too bad I didn’t get to snap a picture of even just one painting.
There were only two other couples in the area where we’re seated, but there were also a few at the bar area and a few at their patio. Hubby made a reservation for 5:30 p.m. which we prefer all the time to avoid the crowds.
While waiting for our order, we were given this…bread and butter.
Hubby’s beer steamed mussels with leeks, smoked tomato, red chile and crostini.
My brussel sprouts with braised pork belly, coca-cola peanuts and eggs gribiche.
The waiter immediately cleaned our table after we were done with our food and brought this. What a sweet surprise!
After the birthday boy ate his birthday cake, he ordered a cup of coffee with cream.
And he wasn’t done. He ordered this Bourbon Butterscotch Pudding. It has sea salt caramel and sweet goat cheese cream.
I wasn’t done either so I ordered this Irish Chocolate Bomb. It is honey bourbon chocolate pavé with stout ice cream and Irish cream mousse.
Food was good, service was excellent and the ambiance was terrific. So yes, it was a happy birthday dinner for the hubby indeed
