Spring has been with us for a month now, but it seems like spring is not here in full force yet. I guess all of us here in the U.S. can relate. The weather can’t seem to make up its mind. It’s spring today, and winter the next. And vice versa. But I must say that I’m still thankful for those gorgeous spring days that we have had which we definitely enjoyed.
On the very first day of spring, the hubs and I decided to stroll downtown and see what spring blooms we could find. It was a beautiful first day of spring with a temperature in the 60’s albeit gloomy. I think you can tell in the photos below that the sun was hiding.
Church Street
As the name of the street entails, this street in downtown Asheville has many churches of different religions. I remember driving through this street before with my boys, but it was only that day that I really looked at and scrutinized each amazing piece of architectural beauty.
This Methodist church was huge and almost covered an entire block. Isn’t that facade gorgeous?
Another church with its doors creating a beautiful backdrop for those spring blooms.
Patton Avenue
This building with beautiful details can’t be missed when you reach the corner of Church Street and Patton Avenue. Patton Avenue is one of the busiest streets here in Asheville. If you take a right here and walk a couple of blocks, you’ll arrive at Pack Square Park, the center of downtown Asheville.
Biltmore Avenue
But before we walked through Church Street, we walked Biltmore Avenue first which is also one of the busiest streets in Asheville.
This wall is one of the famous attractions in downtown. I read some of the writings there, but I’ve never written my own. How about you? Would you like to write on that wall?
Right at the corner of Biltmore Avenue and Aston Street is this double-decker bus that was turned into a coffee shop. We turned at this corner and walked down Aston Street before turning off onto Church Street.
There are more spring blooms now around downtown Asheville which is a sight to see.
Have you visited Asheville in springtime?

I love the old field of the town. The wrought iron fences, facades on the buildings. It looks like a fun place to visit.

Asheville looks like a beautiful place to stay. I am glad that you’re sharing this location, I went here in 2011, during fall season!

I couldn’t imagine myself writing on those walls either but I think it’s fun to leave a remembrance or a secret message that other people will get to read after a year or more. The weather seems very nice to walk in the spring.

It is so gorgeous. We have some lovely trees in bloom right now, but there is a freeze warning tonight. I hope we still have blossoms when tomorrow comes!
